NOTICE

 

California Public Resources Code 4291 requires homeowners to maintain 100 feet of defensible space around structures. Remove all flammable vegetation 30 feet from all structures and for an additional 70 feet, space trees and plants away from each other. Be sure to clear all needles and leaves from roofs, eaves and rain gutters and trim branches six feet from the ground.  BE PREPARED

Tom Atkins—Firefighter
Tom has been a firefighter for a total of nine years. His house is right around the corner from the fire house;, when he is in the area, the response time is under a minute. Born in the hills of San Rafael, he bought his home on Sharp Rd. 1994. He is married to Malka Zohar, a former fire fighter, and currently has one dog and a cockatoo. He also has a 23 year old daughter, Natalie, who lives in San Jose, and a house in Menlo Park.

Tom went to CSM to get his electronics degree and got his electrical contractors license in 1980. His work has taken him all over the country and abroad, living a short time in St. Thomas USVI and traveling to Europe, Africa, and China. He has worked for National Semi-conductor in electronics, as an engineer for Coherent Radiations Labs, and as Facilities Director for Tech Shop. He is currently working on an alternative energy business, including solar, wind and hydro-electric. He enlisted in the USMC in 1967 and has an Honorable discharge.
His hobbies include: fire fighting, scuba diving, gardening, cooking and he is a self proclaimed technogeek. Tom has always been of service to his community. He worked for San Mateo Counties Suicide Prevention program, Bay Area Mountain Rescue, and San Mateo Underwater Rescue, and now our Fire Department.
